Consumers like convenience. Shopping has shifted to online and keeps on evolving. Edwin Stam, a young inspiring concept developer/art director came up with the idea to use augmented reality to shop for some new kicks.
While you are waiting for the bus, you can try on some new shoes using your phone. Scan the QR code and download the app, then try on the shoes in the augmented reality mirror and IF in doubt share it with your friends. If you love it, buy it right away.
Would this be the new way to engage consumers? Augmented Reality has been around, but not utilized. I do think this would be the first step towards Shopping 3.0 (yeah corny, I got it from my dad). I work a fulltime job and since I take the bus and subway to work, I wouldn’t mind trying on some sneakers while waiting on the bus.
Now let’s see which brand will be picking up the idea first! Let’s hope it’s close to Amsterdam, so I don’t have to travel too far to experience it :p
Do you like the idea of augmented reality shopping?
